Something for a lil’ midweek cheerin’ up. This video made me laugh so hard!
This guy went around trolling tourists trying to take forced perspective shots of themselves holding up the Leaning Tower of Pisa – by running up to them randomly and giving them high fives hahahahahahaha! Look out for something at 0:56, my favorite part!
Back to my K-drama. I’m watching Rooftop Prince now, hehe.
Hi. So regarding the internship I mentioned in my previous post…? Well I got it. *beams* Started work on Monday and it has been fine so far. Nothing glamorous, as expected. But I believe there’s always something to takeaway, no matter how trivial certain tasks may seem. Looking forward to the coming weeks, looking forward to learning more and hopefully, proving my worth.
Everyday I come home thoroughly exhausted. Mostly from the crazy commuting. But I can handle that. It will take some getting used to, but I will be fine. I’m already starting to fall into the routine.
Anyhow, the weekends are heereeee~ Time to unwind and repair my fugly nails! Have an appointment in town to see the doctor for my enhancement surgery tomorrow morning. Enhancement surgery for my eyesight, not…something else. Just thought I should clarify. ^^ Gonna be a longgggg wait.
Loot from my post-exams shopping trip (plural of loot is not loots, btw). Disappointed cuz there wasn’t much to buy.
Got this pair of FRENCHIE glitter sole sandals along with some badass rings and a MOTO striped denim jacket. Jacket was ridiculously priced, but I really wanted the sandals (suede, glitter and square toed! <3 ), and I wanted to use my second-piece-at-50%-off voucher.
Also got a pair of plain brown sandals from H&M cuz it was so nice and simple and most importantly, cheaaaaap~~~! Also because H&M was so mind-bogglingly huge that I didn’t feel like shopping. First time at Singapore’s H&M! Got a faded denim vest and a basic cotton shirt from F21 too. ^^ Great buys~
So much blue in my shopping bag this time. An attempt to step away from my usual monotone staples this summer!
Afternoon snack. Crackers with creamed smoked roe in the brother’s trusty ol’ plastic Snoopy bowl, lol.
Grumpy fat tuxedo kitty that hangs around near my workplace. He has the most amazing pale blue eyes. And white (ankle) socks!
Wilson stopped over on his way back to Indo so we met up with him for a short while! When I say short I mean like, two hours. 30 minutes for me, because I was stuck in a traffic jam on the way there. -____- Nice to see him after 6 years though! Glad to know he hasn’t changed one bit. He’s as snarky as ever. But that’s what makes him endearing. Kinda.
Found a not-so-hideous photo of myself during SUNIG 2011. Photo taken by Zheng Weiliang from NTU. Can’t wait for training to resume and for tournament season to roll in.
Wasabi and I followed HL while she ran errands some time last week.
My black jeans after a car journey of Wasabi on my lap.
We then decided to bring Wasabi over to my place and she scared the living daylights outta my cats. Look at how tense my baby was. Mom had to cuddle and pat him to calm him down hahaha cowardly cat.
Dad and Mom being very amused by Wasabi who was evading human contact like her life depended on it. She’s like a cow compared to my kittens.
Aunty Wasabi. Still feisty at the ripe old age of 13…or was it 15…
Spending time with the baby of the family. See the wretched rash on my arm. It wouldn’t go away. It’s been 3 months. :’(
Random outfit this week.
The boys were allowed down for a while cuz according to my dad, it was “too hot upstairs lah, they might die from heatstroke”.
He then proceeded to switch on the air conditioning in the living area. *rolls eyes* Pampered cats are pampered.
My boys are gorgeous! Tora’s markings are looking more and more distinct, and Rei’s eyes are a color so unique I cannot begin to describe.
That devilish smirk. Haha. This boy has spunk!
Had an early dinner with D before chillin’ at Starbucks talking about nothing in particular lol.
And bumped into RZ!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still mugging for her exams then, heh. :-*
On the way to the vet for their second vaccination. Scaredy cat Tora hid in the nook of my elbow the entire time. Dafuq.
Just look at him!!!!!!?!!! Silly boy.
Meet Scarface. The big headed (literally) tom cat with a great personality.
Home at last. Ever curious Rei warmed up enough to leave the protection of my hair to look around. Before that he had his head buried in my hair cuz he was nervous. He was still gripping onto me really tightly though. All the better for me, cuz then I didn’t have to hold on to him.
And Tora, still hiding. -______________-
Dinner with RZ and Florence Nightingale AZ after RZ’s last paper! The two of you have the same face in this photo. Like mirror image. Lol don’t kill me.
In my ultimate lazy outfit at work. That’s my default morning face.
Snoozing kitties.
Loved HL’s outfit that day!
I don’t iron my clothes, apparently.
ColdStone, where we saw one of ‘em flip a scoop of ice-cream onto the shelf behind them lolwhat.
Flammekueche at Flams @ Orchard Central. Not too bad! I prefer it to normal pizza.
My master, hahaha.
Was looking through old photos and I really, really, really miss the month we spent in Europe last summer. It was beyond awesome. :’) Having a bad case of wanderlust now, sigh.
Photo of a sad Laslo, our Belgian host family’s adorable Tibetan Terrier, to illustrate how I feel now. Mehh.
Looking forward (understatement of the century) to my month long vacation before school starts again in August. Sometimes I wonder why I put myself through this when I could be living like a princess during the holidays, turning in at 4am and lazing in bed till it’s time for lunch, catching up on the Spring JDramas, reading, going tanning every afternoon, meeting my friends whenever.
Then I remember what a dog eat dog world it is out there. You snooze you lose. Everything will be worth it in the end, right? Right. Might as well enjoy the journey while I’m at it. *shrugs*
First day of internship tomorrow. 2 months of waking up early and sleeping late. I can do this. It’s going to be worth it. I’m going to learn a lot. Breathe.
Freaking out a little. And dreading the hike up Caldecott Hill big time.
HI MY EXAMS ARE OVERRRRRRRR~~~ I love doing absolutely nothing!!! Best feeling in the world. Have an internship interview next week, and if I nail it (ohgodpleasepleasepleaselemmegeddit), I’ll be starting work really soon, meh. The work schedule’s probably gonna be super irregular and packed. :/ But till then, IMMA BE A SLOTH. v^^v VIVA SLOTHDOM~~~
Some backdated photos from January, and most from the past few weeks. \o/
Had tea with the girl friends one afternoon at Bakerzin during the New Year period I think. Would kill for some of these desserts now. NOW. NOWWWWW.
We then proceeded for steamboat buffet dinner somewhere in Beach Road. Geniuses. -___- We were so, so full~
Some cool shop selling qipaos. And HL’s lonely back.
Some other evening we met for dinner and desserts at the airport.
Thought the Hall 16 banners looked cool. ^^
Came home one Saturday to see my two favorite baby girls girlhandling my two favorite baby boys. Awwww~
Tomb-sweeping time of the year again. Time really flies. O_o
Random photo of cloudless sky I took while on the way to the other cemetery.
Silly dog taking a nap.
Glorious weather!
Omg this. I can never do this no matter how hard I try. Never. Supposed to make the joss paper fan out so it’s easier to burn.
Sky porn, again. I have so many photos of the sky in my phone and camera it’s no joke.
The annual family photo, haha.
Abrupt change of topic, where I declare my undying love for CHICKEN FEEEEEEET. Best thing in the world. We had two plates of chicken feet salad that evening. Yum!
Okay mandatory kitty photos. It was hell, those two weeks in hall preparing for the exams. I was so desperate to see them I made Mom take photos and videos of them to send to me. They were my motivation to get through those dark days. Like, fur’ real. I’m back home now and I can cuddle them whenever I want. They’ve grown so much bigger.
All the better for me, cuz there’s more to hug now!!
S and S came to visit a couple o’ weeks ago.
And when they left, we gave the boys their first bath. #kittymilestones
Here’s Tora. Not looking too happy about it.
They have their own towels!
And Rei, also not looking too happy. That’s Dad tryna make peace, hahaha!
Zooming in on that adoraaaaableeee~~~ angry face.
Rei napping on Mom’s lap after a comfy head scratch.
And Tora in my arms like a baby~~ *happy sigh*
Japanese street photography themed planner I bought but never got round to using. Shall use it next sem heh.
Celebrated XT’s and C’s birthdays in hall during study period. My kids are all grown up now. ^^
Um, hair. Just thought the waves looked nice that day.
Headed out of school after the last paper to get stuff for C’s birthday surprise, and finally got time to get Uzzai some cat food. Here she is, eating off the NTU freshman guide. I actually thought it would be kinda symbolic, throwing away the map on the last day of my year 1 life. Lol don’t judge.
Topshop romper that’s too short. So tall people unfriendly.
Fluffeh clouds as seen from Hall 16! One of the best things about NTU being at the end of the island is the gorgeous (relatively) unblocked skyline and lack of light pollution. Breathtaking sunsets/sunrises, star filled skies, we have seen ‘em all.
A photo with my room door! Shifting out of the room that I’ve called home for the past year. A little reluctant, a little sad, but life goes on. :/
Favorite corridor in 16.
At 2.30am, on the morning of my last paper (it was a 9am paper), this was the number of lecture slides I still had left to skim through hahaha. It was truly a ohgodwhy-didn’t-I-start-earlier moment. Time and again, you’d think I’d have learned my lesson but nope, nobody does last minute muggin’ like I do.
K but whatever, I survived somehow. With less than an hour of sleep before my paper. For the rest of the day I was just high from fatigue and the awesome feeling that is post-exam exhilaration. \o/ \o/ \o/
Party dress I bought but haven’t got the chance to wear cuz I haven’t had a life in a while. School’s out kidssss, it’s time to party~~~! Cannot wait!!!!!!
I have no explanation for how messy my room floor is. Go ahead and judge me.
Aiyohhhhh. I don’t really know what results to expect. Or rather, I don’t want to expect. Just want to graduate from university without anything lower than a B. :S I didn’t find this semester as unbearable as the first, though many of my WKW peers may beg to differ. Maybe it’s cuz I was doing things I like.
Speaking of which, here’s the music video we did. Kinda amateurish, but pretty good for first timers if I might say so myself. So glad to have been part of this group! <3
One year in NTU, and one year in Wee Kim Wee School of Communications and Information (what a mouthful) flew by so quickly. I have a feeling that before we know it, we’d be done with university. I wouldn’t say I made the right choice by coming here, but I’d say I didn’t make a wrong choice. I’ve learned a lot, about things I actually care about. So it’s been nice overall.
Anyway now that the school term and the exams are overrrrr, I can finally spare some time to make myself look human-like. From head to toe. Tending to hair (all kinds lol #toomuchinfo), doing my nails, going for facials, SHOPPING OMG. SHOPPING.
And packing my room. Am in the midst of shifting home from hall. My room at home vaguely resembles a junkyard now. Don’t know where to start packing. Le sigh. I also hope to find some courage to dress more outrageously and take some outfit shots whenever I can!
Looking forward to two short trips this summer vacay. Don’t know when or where exactly yet, but I hope we confirm plans soon. 8D
Hi. (Not very) sorry about the influx of videos and random posts on this space. But this I have to share.
Watch this video!!!! It brought tears to my eyes. Happy tears~ T_T Seeing the big smiles and the honks they got in response was just…awwww… Singaporeans are not unfeeling, unspontaneous people after all!
So heartening to see Singaporean youth taking the initiative to make our country a better place. The things they do are so simple, but so impactful. Makes me feel all warm in my tummy~ Hope in our society restored.
Taken from their site at Project Hello Stranger: Project Hello Stranger is a voluntary movement by a group of Singaporean youths who want to see a happier Singapore. As like in many cities, we are often forced or socialized into building a wall around us due to the competition that we are used to in school and at work, and that permeates into other areas of our lives. However, we know that within those walls lie big hearts and we aim to break them down by infecting Singaporeans with the spirit of giving and love.
Say hi to Uzzai. Japanese, slang for “noisy”, because she’s the most talkative cat I’ve ever come across. She hangs out along my corridor in hall. Me thinks she’s a very lucky cat cuz everyone’s really nice to her. Some are probably afraid of her. Which is kinda funny because she’s more afraid of them, really.
Always cheers me up to see her bright green eyes peek out from behind a pillar to stare at me whenever I go back to my room. I wish she wasn’t quite as defensive tho. So I could cuddle her.
But still, close enough. Not going back home this weekend because of exam preparations. I miss the two at home. Uzzai puts a little kitty in my life in the meantime. She’d always come and walk around me and rub herself against me, which makes me so happy *I* could purr.
Check out her pretty green peepers.
Dressed preppy in an attempt to get into the study mood. Didn’t really work.
In other news, I really want to do something to my hair. It’s getting so boring. But first thing I NEED to do, is get some hair treatment done. It’s so dry it’s not even funny.
Hi. I am highly annoyed. So annoyed that it warrants a ranty blog post in the midst of my exam preparations.
If you know me well you’d know that my biggest, biggest, biggest pet peeve, right up there with dirty toilet seats and brainless racist/anti-PAP/anti-SMRT comments, is loud chewing. Or bad table manners in general (slurping, shoveling, etc).
Pardon my language but I fucking hate this sound (at 9:03). Needless to say, I hate it when people chew gum. Because the sound makes every.single.nerve in my body tingle, and not in a nice way.
I abhor it so much that I’m close to tears just listening to this fucktard sitting somewhere in this study room, chewing so disgustingly loudly. I have to put on music just to block him out but I can’t study with music onnnn…… >:(
Sigh. In other news, my scumbag mind is thinking of everything else but my notes. Those thoughts should wait for after my exams but they can’t wait. I can’t wait. The to-do list in my head now is currently about 717 pages long.
Found last semester’s post-exams to-do list. Rolling around and doing nothing all day tops my current list.
Apart from to-do lists I have illegible song lyrics. Honestly….I can’t read half the words lol. And a list of cities I want to visit. Constructive huh? Not.
We have also turned to turning each other into strawberries to de-stress. This is so retarded I had second thoughts about posting it here.
What were we thinking. -________-
And when I’m stressed I torture my kittens.
Who are obviously very reluctant to humor me. Maybe I would have gotten a better shot if I hadn’t snatched them up during one of their krazy kitty moods.
I also sent out a couple of internship applications yesterday because I’m distracted like that. I hope they get back to me soon. Anyone wants to hire me? I need money to check cities and countries off the aforementioned list of vacation spots.
With a little faith and a little soul We can’t go wrong We can’t go wrong
The irony.
Cuz this song will forever remind me of that fateful day when everything went wrong. The day I decided once and for all that I’m not meant for it, that it’s a dream not worth chasing anymore because I cannot take the pain of rejection again.
I am disappointed, yes I am, very disappointed. But maybe it’s a sign that I should move on. To greater things, perhaps. To things I am better at.
The start of the last week of school. Hang in there Yumei. The end is near.
